| Model Killed in Battle With Carjacker
Investigators are looking for a suspect in the death of a model who was killed while trying to prevent her Porsche Cayenne from being carjacked, city prosecutors said Wednesday. Anna Loginova, a 29-year-old model and businesswoman, died instantly Sunday when she smashed her head against the pavement while holding on to the door handle as the carjacker drove off in her Porsche, said Oleg Pavlov, the lead investigator with the southeast district branch of the City Prosecutor's Office. "We haven't managed to find the suspect yet," Pavlov said. Loginova arrived at a friend's apartment building on Novomarinskaya Ulitsa, near the Bratislavskaya metro station, at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday to adopt a kitten, Pavlov said. According to witnesses, Loginova had just opened the door of her car when a man got out of a nearby car, sprinted toward the model and threw her out of the Porsche, Pavlov said.
02/11/08 Letters to the Editor
To the editor -- Imagine, if for just one day, everyone in the Yakima Valley honored one another above themselves. Consider how that decision would play out in just one 24-hour period of your daily life. This idea is rich with the possibilities of undeserved kindness, grace gently extended in the place of judgment and a community characterized by love and mercy. And then imagine if we were so bold as to conduct ourselves in that manner for longer than just one day! The fruits of such an exercise would contribute powerfully to creating the kind of health we want in our community, including the support of a school system striving to do its best by our children. If not for just one day, please consider honoring one another above yourself with a single yes vote for the Yakima School District levy.
Holding on to a Birthright
So in November, Johnston returned to NARS, where along with an $8.50 an hour paycheck, the company offers health insurance at reasonable rates, flexible scheduling so she's home when her oldest child returns from school and on-site child care at subsidized rates. "I have to have health insurance," Johnston said during an interview at her home that was repeatedly interrupted as her two older children, Nikki Fuller, 5, and Gabriel Fuller, 3, played with action figures and the family dog. .
Snow Named Winner of J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award
The award honors an NBA player or coach for outstanding service and dedication to the community. "I am honored to have been selected for such a prestigious award, said Snow. To now be mentioned in the company of those past and even future recipients who spend so much of their time, energy and resources in service to others is truly a blessing. I hope that my being recognized will be an inspiration to others in the same way that others have inspired me." Snow established the Full Court Fathers Program this season, which promotes, encourages and rewards positive father-child relationships. During the 2004-05 season, 40 father-son and 40 father-daughter pairs were honored at Cavaliers home games and had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet Snow. Snows Shoot 4 The Moon Foundation, initially established in the Philadelphia-area in 1997, was introduced to the Canton, Cleveland and surrounding areas of Northeast Ohio when Snow became a Cavalier last summer.

Working hard — on a baby
Thus, a phone call from the doctor means she and her partner must literally rush home from work to have sex. Maureen Barrett, 49, and her husband went through infertility treatment for eight years. They tried artificial insemination and timed intercourse and worked with five different specialists. "It was very depressing. It was difficult to deal with (timing sex) and with work," says Ms. Barrett, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Oak Brook. At the time of her treatments, she was working as a manager in the travel industry and vividly remembers one morning when she needed to be in two places at the same time. "I had to go to work, but it was one of those times when we had to have sex that particular time I had to take my temperature and be in a certain position. There was this terrible feeling of desperation," she says.
Carolina Place Mall bandits caught on tape 7:04 AM
PINEVILLE, N.C. -- One suspect is behind bars and another is on the run after stealing more than $10,000 worth of clothing from Carolina Place Mall. Investigators say the two could be connected to other crimes in separate states. Imagine this: two suspects go running from the mall with bags of stolen clothes. A witness told me the suspects ran into a mini van, stashed their bags, and then calmly walked back into the mall as if nothing had happened. Surveillance video shows the two suspects running through the parking to their mini-van. "The guy was literally running I mean he was getting it across the parking lot," said Chrystal Helms, witness. Helms says she was shocked to see what looked like a thief making an escape, but she couldn't believe what he did next.
